Educational Facilities
The department has the following facilities:
1-Computer Labs:
The six computer labs are installed with the latest software programs and
equipped with the newest hardware technologies. Additionally, each lab contains
a data show connected to a PC for the instructors’ use. All labs are connected together
to the main academic network and in turn to the Internet through leased line Internet
connections, as well as a DSL connection. These labs are used for the courses offered
and for the general use of the students.
The two labs are connected together to the main academic network and in turn
to the Internet through a leased line Internet connection, as well as a DSL connection.
They are available for student use all the time.
The physics laboratories are designed to provide the students with hands-on
experience related to a specific concept. The emphasis during laboratories is on
observing relationships, identifying variables and developing tentative explanation
of phenomena. Experiments are more quantitative in nature and generally involve
acquiring data in a prescribed manner, making measurements, estimating errors, organizing
and interpreting data.
This workshop serves the Production Technology course. It covers the basic
manufacturing processes of metal casting, forging, welding, sheet metal work, locksmith,
metal cutting, turning, milling, drilling, shaping, grinding, wood working and electric
equipment, instruments, and hand tools. After finishing the practical training,
students will understand the suitable manufacturing procedure for each product and
will be acquainted with the capabilities of each production process.
This lab is used to teach students basic electronics components, equipment and electronic
circuits in a hands-on manner form.
6-
Basic Circuits Lab
This lab is equipped with all types of boards and measurement tools. Each student
deals with different electronic components, constructs circuits, measures circuits
and studies different ways of circuit analysis experimentally.
7- Electrical & Electronics Workshop
It provides technical skills for engineering students. A student studies how to
deal with different components, how to assemble a circuit, ways of soldering, and
finally how to test & measure these assembled circuits. There are numerous applications
done in the workshop starting with power supplies and alarm systems and ending with
simple robot systems.
8- Communications Lab
It is a lab for senior students that is equipped with advanced experimental kits
and measurement devices. It allows students to study different communication systems,
and experience types of modulation, both analog and digital. It also provides a
study of some applications as fiber-optic system and others.
9- Microwave and antenna Lab
It is a lab equipped with state-of-the art training and measurement systems, providing
students with hands on expermination in the prionceiples and practices of antenna
and microwave technology.
8- VLSI and EDA Lab
This lab is equipped with microprocessor and microcontroller trainers beside powerful
PC machines loaded by electronic engineering CAD tool.
Students re able to design both analog and digital integrated circuits and carry
out different projects in electronics and communication engineering.
