Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics & Communications
The department offers a five-year program leading to a B.Sc. degree in Electronics
and Communications Engineering. The technical course offered by the department covers
the field of electrical and electronic circuits, electronic measurements, computer
and programming, networking, very large scale integrated circuits, microwaves and
antennas, analog and digital communications, satellite communications, optical communications,
and mobile communications. The courses are assessed on a semester basis. As you
progress through the semester and pass the examinations, you will receive credit
for the courses you have successfully completed.
Academic Program
The departments offer a five-year program leading to a B. Sc. degree in engineering.
Students are required to complete 189 credit hours (60 courses) for graduation from
one of the following departments.
1. Department of Electronics & Communications
The department offers courses in the fields of elementary sciences, engineering
drawings, mathematics & mechanics, statistics & probability, physics, chemistry,
computer & programming, electronics & electrical circuits, communications & satellite,
and antennas & microwave.

Objectives
The mission of the department is to achieve the following objectives:
Prepare specialists in the field of electric engineering who are well-equipped with
foundations and implementation methodologies that enable them to meet both the challenges
& development in engineering technologies.
Conduct theoretical and applied research in the field of electronic engineering,
communications, and computers, which contributes to the process of economic development
in the society.
Hold conferences, workshops, as well as national and international seminars in the
fields of electronic engineering, communications and computers.
Hold agreements with similar institutions and organizations on the local, regional,
and international levels to exchange experience and conduct joint research in the
field of electronic engineering, communications and computers.
